Near-term initiatives
- Release
0.3version of the protocol with backward compatibility for a significant amount of time (with some known breaking changes). - Solidify support for A2A extensions with SDK support and sample extensions.
- Introduce support for signed AgentCards to allow verifying integrity.
- Enhance client-side SDK support (ready-to-use clients, streamlined auth handling, improved task handling).

Longer term (3-6 month period) roadmap
Governance
The protocol has been donated to the Linux Foundation. The community is working on governance structures and working groups for evolving the specification, SDKs, and tooling.
Agent registry
Agent registries enable discovery of agents and are a critical component of multi-agent systems. Discussions continue in the community around registry design and interoperability.

Community efforts include tools to validate agents, such as:

A2A hosts SDKs in multiple languages and contributors continue to add more (including Go).
Community best practices
As deployments grow, the community aims to collect and share best practices and success stories.
